Since the start of 2018 I have planned so much and it has helped me to become SO much more organised and productive so I thought I’d share some tips with you all! This is what helps me, everyone works with different methods but hopefully it can give some of you inspiration. 1. Use to-do lists rather than timed revision slots, I find that I work more efficiently and finish the tasks to the best I can. For example, if I had a half an hour slot to do a task, I could either rush it (meaning it’s not to the best of my ability) or that if I finish it early, I would waste the extra time.
2. Have a list of all your topics for each subject, and make sure you are working through all of them, and not just revising the ones that you enjoy the most. Make sure none of them get missed! I often make my to-do lists based on the topic lists. 3. Plan on a Sunday evening for the following week (or as an alternative, plan every evening for the next day) and review the daily plan each evening. Usually I don’t plan ahead for weekends, as my time spent working can vary and I like to write notes and do any catch up work here. If I have missed out a task during the week for some reason, I would also transfer this to the Saturday or Sunday (so it doesn’t take time away from my other tasks during the week)! This also helps me to be more productive to finish everything during the week. I like planning in advance as I like waking up each day knowing what my goals are 4. Take a copy of your to do list to school with you, particularly if you have free periods - if you have forgotten what you need to do then you may end up wasting time or doing less important tasks! 5. Be specific on your to do lists, for example, state exactly which past paper you are doing and have it printed off - this saves time when it comes to actually doing the task! 6. Be ambitious with your to-do lists to help you be productive, but don’t treat it as a failure if you don’t complete everything and reward yourself for everything you have done. I hope these provide you with inspiration and motivation for planning x
